Thundersprint Cavalcade:
One of the highlights of the whole Thundersprint weekend, is the Cavalcade which sees almost 200 race, and a few road, bikes provide a fantastic spectacle for the tens of thousands of fans who pack the streets of Northwich.
There are other similar cavalcades in different parts of the world but there is nothing, but nothing, as mind-blowingly impressive as the Thundersprint Cavalcade in Northwich.
The Classic Endurance team strutt their stuff in the Thundersprint Cavalcade

We are delighted that this year AGV Sport are helping us out with the huge costs of the Cavalcade so a big thank you to Keith and Lisa for their support.
The AGV Sport Evolution jacket provides ideal protection -
from the elbows of the thousands of spectators packing the streets to watch the Cavalcade!
The hyper enthusiastic husband and wife team, who own AGV Sport UK, are really looking forward to the unique experience which is the Thundersprint Cavalcade. Keith said: "We are proud to be the sponsor of the Thundersprint Cavalcade and are looking forward to the Cavalcade which we have heard so much about."

Cavalcade Route and Times
The Cavalcade will take 20 minutes in all and runs to a very tight schedule.
Please allow plenty of time to get from the Thundersprint show itself to Chesterway, which is the inner ring road and effectively the route of the Cavalcade.
We suggest you leave at least 20 minutes to get from the show to the ring road.
WARNING:
Last year, we had a tiny number of specators who tried, but thanks to riders' skill and awareness failed, to touch the bikes during the Cavalcade. We would like you to know that if you touch the exhaust pipe, or engine, of a bike which has slowed down, or even stopped, you will find that in fact it is extremely hot.
Please accept our word that hot exhausts and engines really are hot and WILL burn you.
You do not have to put your hand on the bike to prove this statement.
Please do not try to touch the Cavalcade bikes. This is dangerous to you and the rider- and is a very stupid thing to do. Don't do it!
Cavalcade Insider Information:
Make sure that you spend sometime outside the paddock as the Cavalcade riders prepare their bikes in the collecting area.
The sight, sound and smells are unforgettable. You can then make your way quickly to either the first traffic island, about 300 yards from the collecting box, where the cavalcade will pass twice before returning to the paddock. Alternatively, keeping Sainsbury's and the Halford's store on the right, you will reach Northwich Police Station which has excellent viewing.
Cheshire Police do a superb job marshalling the Cavalcade

Turn right in front of the Police station and a very short walk will bring you to the right hand corner in front of the courts - a delight for those of you who like to hear the bikes accelerating away from this slow speed bend.
A good place for those of you with children is outside the Seafarer Restuarant which has railings outside. This means that the children can get close to the action - but from behind a steel safety fence.
The Thundersprint Cavalcade in all its glory. Truly a unique sight!

The Cavalcade:
12.00 - 12.20 - Cavalcade takes place.
Note this route is only provisional at the moment but could be subject to change by Cheshire Police. We have a very good relationship with Cheshire Police and we are confident that this will be the route unless something really major interferes.
The cavalcade route is:
1) Leave the “Thundersprint” site from the collecting box immediately adjacent to the paddock in Cumberland Street car park. The “warming up” area is fenced and the bikes and riders can be seen close up.
2) Head for the island at the start of Chester Way and turn right, heading downhill along Chester Way past the Courts
3) Turn left at the main traffic lights in front of Cheshire County Council buildings
4) Turn right at the next set of traffic lights in front of J&S Accessories
One of the great joys of the Thundersprint is seeing road and race bikes in action on the same stretch of public road.

5) Turn right at the next set of traffic lights in front of the "Bull Ring".
6) Return up Chester Way past Northwich Police Station to the island and then start second lap
James "Mad Dog" May ("Mad Dog" being James' nom de guerre for his epic Thundersprint campaigns!) shows how to look ultra cool on his Guzzi

7) After the conclusion of the second lap, turn left at Chester Way island and return to the Thundersprint site.
There is excellent viewing along the whole of the route but the area from Northwich Police Station towards the "Seafarer" restaurant is particularly good because the bikes will be slowing down to turn left and then accelerating towards J&S Accessories.
Down past the Courts and round the Police on a Grand Prix 50cc racer. As they say on the TV Shows: don't try this in your own town - unless you happen to live in Vale Royal.

The Cavalcade will be proceeding slowly but please take great care along the whole viewing area since there will be 200 bikes in action- mainly race machines - and this is a big convoy.
Parents, little ones get very excited with the spectacle so please keep a tight hold on your children.
Many thanks to the superb support and assistance provided by Cheshire Police who could not be more helpful and without whose assistance there would not be a Cavalcade.
